Wow, the smell, oh the smell. When you make this appetizer, be sure to have your guests somewhere in the near vicinity. You will win them over by the smell alone. But then, when they taste the crab and the creamy cheese with a punch from your favorite IPA (or whatever your beer of choice is) you’ll probably have a hard time making them leave your home. Just make this. Oh, and I need to mention that it is simple. Sam cooked it while hosting a show, in a chair, on his desk.

The man himself is back with us to debut his latest creations for this year’s fair circuits. Chicken Charlie has been a perennial deep-frying mogul for quite sometime now and his creations always stir interest at city and county fairs up and down California. To celebrate the fair atmosphere, Sam cooks up some mini corndogs with a delicious chili dipping sauce while he chats with Chicken Charlie at the desk.

Nothing says ‘Summer’ better than a refreshing and fragrant gazpacho. We use yellow peppers in this one and when it all comes together in the processor, you get something truly amazing. To add a little contrast, Sam also grills some nicely seasoned giant shrimp to go along. And because our fearless host had to leave a bit early, we answer some questions about the show and Sam himself on Facebook in a new segment called “Ask the Boys” (Lynn and Max in the control room).

Tonight we’re joined by legendary San Diego Chef Matt Gordon. He took some time out of his busy day to educate us about sweetbreads and how to cook them. Then Sam had his turn in the kitchen and cooked up a fragrant and garlicky shrimp scampi with monster shrimp. This wraps up anniversary week for us folks. Again, we thank you for being amazing fans and supporting the show in every way. If you’re in San Diego, go visit Chef Gordon’s restaurants (Urban Solace and Solace at the Moonlight Lounge).

Can you believe it livecasters? One year ago, Sam, Max, Lynn, and Steve got with this crazy notion that we could turn cooking and talk into entertainment while doing it completely live and unedited. To celebrate, we bust out the good stuff and make a champagne cocktail and the most delicious grilled lobsters ever. We also re-live the infamous, never-posted (you’ll see why), episode 1 video. Thank you fans and sponsors (who are like our fans too), we couldn’t have done it without you!
