What the heck is a hoffsicle? Remember David Hasselhoff in Baywatch? Apparently he’s the new fad of the summer season from Del Monte in popsicle form. I can’t make this stuff up livecasters, it’s true. Sam also talks about what kind of chopsticks to buy for your home. If you’re going to go with the disposable wooden ones, pay the extra one or two dollars (for the entire pack, not per chopstick pair) so that they break off evenly and save you and your guests from a splinter in the mouth.

We grilled some meatballs in Episode 3 and they are making a reappearance today in the form of a sub. We smothered them in a jar of pasta sauce and melty provolone cheese and served it in a toasted hot dog bun. That’s it! How freaking easy is that? Those pre-packaged meatballs are just kind of those things you need to keep around because they can do so many things. Watch the episode, follow along, make this sub, and thank Sam later.

Thanks for tuning in, it was a great week. Remember our liveshows are on at this site. We’ll turn the front page into the live show about 5-10 minutes before we start so make sure you refresh the page to see it.

Oh and one more thing. We have a very special livecast at Donovan’s Prime Seafood in downtown San Diego on Thursday 5P PST. Please come out and see us because it’s free and it’ll be a blast!

(video coming soon!)

In today’s episode we start by making a delicious bleu-cheese stuffed olive dirty martini and then it’s all about you, the fans. We answer a question about sea salt,  show a fan’s rendition of Sam in a Mii (that’s the custom characters you build on Nintendo’s Wii gaming console), and talk to and hook up a couple Livecasters on Skype. How cool is technology these days? Sam then talks about a recent survey conducted highlighting America’s top 10 favorite foods–you’ll be surprised at the results–and ends the show by cooking a beautiful, mouth-watering stir-fry with cup noodles. Yes, the ones you get at the store for 30 cents or something like that. It is a legitimate tasting stir fry that will satisfy all your cravings with minimal cook time (recipe here for 5-minute stir fry noodles). It was delicious. Get creative with red peppers, onions, green onions (scallions), sauces, etc. Make sure that wok is hot!

Remember, we’ll be live at Donovan’s Prime Seafood Thursday, June 30 at 5P. There are no tickets to buy, no entrance fee to pay, just come and see us do our livecast thing on location. We’ll see you soon!

This is how Haley sleeps during the show.

5-Minute Stir Fry. Hot wok, saute some veggies.

Combine with cup noodles, add to hot wok, get it crispy, and add good teriyaki sauce.

Enjoy with some friends and family.

Sup Livecasters! Today’s show was epic.

We start by making a lip-smacking lemonade and bourbon cocktail (a Livecast crew fave). Then Sam shows off a couple more Emmy Awards he won over the weekend and shares about a little wardrobe debacle while trying to find something nice for the event. Max rolls out a new segment on us called “Who Eats This Sh*t?” and Sam and I got to try a whacked up thing called Pigs’ Feet. Hey look, I don’t care if you eat this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I don’t care if your mom eats this or if it’s your family’s favorite picnic food. It is simply nasty. Don’t believe me? Check out our yaktastic reactions on the show. If I watch it again I might just vomit.

Here’s a challenge: if you find something strange at a major supermarket chain (so far we’re ruling out major ethnic food store chains) that you want us to try, hit us up on Facebook (www.facebook.com/samthecookingguy) or Twitter (@thecookingguy). We’ll eat anything.

But wait, we’re not going to leave you hanging with us gagging on stinky pigs’ slime, er, feet. Sam finishes the show with a cripsy and gooey pesto grilled cheese (recipe here) that is surely going to be one of the best things you’ll ever eat.

Sam the Cooking Guy's Pesto Grilled Cheese

On tonight’s livecast we have Chef Ron from Donovan’s Restaurant come over to prepare Sam’s famous Cap’n Crunch Seared Tuna, a dish they’re featuring on their menu right now. How cool is that? Also, Sam rants about a weird supermarket experience and talks to a couple fans on Skype and teaches one how to properly hold a knife and use it. Here’s the thing guys. If you have a question you want answered by Sam, just call in on a show. It’s that simple! Plus, you’ll probably get a free t-shirt or book out of it.

Capn Crunch Seared Tuna

Thanks for another great week at The Sam Livecast. Join us next Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 6PM PST for another round. We’ll see you then.

Folks, today we have Chicken Charlie in the house. You may know him by his tasty deep-fried creations at your local fair. We’re talking Oreos, Girl Scout Cookies, brownies, Krispy Kreme sandwiches, Twinkies, frog legs, the Zucchini-Weeni (TM, I’m sure), S’Mores, Klondike Bars, and the list goes on. But wait! We got to try a couple new creations for this year: deep-fried Kool-Aid and ribs (Charlie calls them FryBQ Ribs).

By the way, we made Kool-Aid and vodka cocktails in his honor.

Charlie talks to Sam about how his American dreams were realized as a successful entrepreneur and YOU the Livecasters suggest new fried offerings for the future. We debuted our first Skype call and will be doing some more in the future. Interested in calling in and participating? Stay tuned here on this site as well as Sam’s Facebook page.

Wow that was a fun show. Tune in tomorrow night (Thursday 6/16) at 6PM PST. It’ll be Sam and you with a Donovan’s chef making Sam’s own creation: Cap’n Crunch Seared Tuna.
