More pickle week action coming your way with these guilt-free Baked Fish Sticks. Of course we all love the traditional deep fried cod thats dripping in grease and piled on top of a bed of salty chips – now we finally have a version that we can eat without feeling the need to take a shower after. Beautiful pieces of cod, sliced into fingers, covered in Panko bread crumbs and then baked until golden brown and crispy. Add a healthy homemade tartar sauce made with Greek yogurt instead of sour cream and chopped dill pickles – and you’ve got a perfectly healthy and delicious recipe.

Buckle your seat belts – it’s Pickle Week! For centuries mankind has been pickeling all manner of fruits and vegetables, and this week we honor that tradition by focusing solely on pickles in our cooking. After some discussion about how/when/what to pickle, our first recipe of the week is this delicious grilled cuban sandwich. Be prepared this week for much more Livecast fun with Sam – he definitely loves pickles.

Perhaps the most important MasterChef Friday is upon us. We are sad to say with a heavy heart that our very own Lynn Chyi has been eliminated from the competition. After a baking mishap leads to Gordon dubbing Lynn’s dish “the worst in MasterChef history”, the elimination challenge ends with Lynn taking off his apron. Today we bring Lynn out from the shadows of the control room to the main desk for a tell-all interview about his demise from MasterChef season 4.

To cheer their monstrous friend up, Sam and Max did the only thing that made sense: bring him special food. Sam picked up almost $50 worth of Asian dumplings, while Max made a special trip to Santa Monica to pick up the first incarnation of the Cronut (croissant/donut) on the west coast. He shall live to fight another day.

Lobster Tacos

To continue the celebration of our 300th episode Sam has decided to go all out and cook only the crew’s favorite dishes. Monday started with the sous-vide filet mignon topped with crab and béarnaise. To follow up, you only need to know one word: LOBSTER. With a few beautiful lobster tails, Sam went on to create some of the most delicious lobster tacos we’ve ever tasted. Simply add rice and beans (and a few drips of butter on the lobster once its in the taco) and you’re set – a summertime Mexican fiesta for your family and friends.

It’s a good day to be a part of The Sam Livecast…cuz we’ve made it to 300 episodes!  We have had momentous occasions in the past, but for some reason reaching this number feels like the biggest. We’d like to thank every single person that’s been there with us from the beginning and all those that have joined a long the way – you guys are what make this show amazing!  We would be nowhere without your input, and for 300 episodes every fan has helped to shape the show into what it is today. For all of that, thank you again so much for keeping us alive.

To mark the occasion we decided to treat ourselves a little bit with a beautiful filet mignon topped with crab and bernaise sauce. It couldn’t have been a better way to help us remember why we love our jobs and why we keep coming back – which is what you should do as well!  Happy 300th!
